You really are possessed and discombobulated. That's American for off your nut. I love your pics. Don't be so self absorbed. The pics speak for themselves. I've been to Edinburgh. Loved it. Every dark, wet, uninviting corner of it. Just shoot the pics. We love them.
Yas it is beautiful up there, well all of Edinburgh is beautiful
Oh man, so many amazing books and crannies all over that city! I wish I could visit long enough to to see all these little vignettes for myself. 😊💕
creates mystery, alertness.........suspense waiting for a cat to jump out from the shadows. Love it
Congratulations! That's awesome!
Walk up there every day to work. 😀
A murder... Looks as if could happen here....where's Rebus? Lol
Perfect pic and perfect quote
Looking at this photo makes you feel like your down the cold dark alley
Beautiful historical place! ❤️👍
It is very atmospheric! Shame about the cobbles, though!
We even went to haunted caverns under the city!

Love these words & dark Edinburgh.
Ooh, those beautiful colors!
Love the old pictures, but absolutely hate photoshop pics.
"This can't last. This misery can't last. I must remember that and try to control myself. Nothing lasts really. Neither happiness nor despair. Not even life lasts very long. There'll come a time in the future when I shan't mind about this anymore, when I can look back and say quite peacefully and cheerfully how silly I was. No, no, I don't want that time to come ever. I want to remember every minute, always, always to the end of my days." - from the film Brief Encounter ... See MoreSee Less
I can believe that when I see the beauty of God's creation.
I am enjoying walking through Edinburgh with you until I can get there myself one day.
I’ve walked up and down this street a few times. Never at night! I must confess I enjoyed the down walking more than the up. 😬😉
I love this view. If I were wealthy I would just move to Edinburgh, I think.
"double decker" Victoria Street, as I always think of it. Edinburgh is such a three-dimensional city in a way that few others are.
I love the quirky boutique.shops up this street .Hope they don't bite the dust because if Co Vid Lock Downs
Last time I walked here there was an opera singer singing in a doorway, priceless.
Wow that is awesome, very colourful and very inviting.
Very suiting text! Nice picture as well
What an incredible photo. For years I worked in an office on Johnston Terrace. I loved being so close to the castle and amongst the quirkier boutiques. Miss my pie & pint from the Bow Bar. This captures the character of the street perfectly.
Love this, from my favourite film; can hear Celia Johnson in my head. And love Victoria Street. Wish I was back there now. Hope all the independent shops are managing to stay open. Such a beautiful city.
Was there last night. Sad but we had the run of it to ourselves ❤️
What a beautiful photo. It's perfect.
Such a great idea with adding quotes
Victoria Street! ❤️
"Brief Encounter" (Celiohnson, Trevor Howard) is one of the finest movies ever filmed.
My favourite Street
Beautiful picture and a perfect quote too. I love that film ❤
Good to see Maxies is still in business.
The tale of two cities encapsulated in this wonderful atmospheric shot. Inviting us to walk up into the bright exuberant nightlife or further into the dark hovering blank canvas. No one knows what is round the corner.
Fabulous picture.you really have caught it beautifully.love this picture.xxxx
That is beautiful you are a brilliant photographer love your pictures of a beautiful city
This pic is amazing.love the lady putting her coat on,is this pic available to buy xx

Wow, love your pictures and the poetic descriptions 🌹 Edinburgh is on my first place to visit list ❤️
Reminds me off the Tall book of make believe Which starts with "there is a wonderful World of make believe and no one goes there but me".
This could have been taken 100 years ago, amazing how Edinburgh has retained its character over the years 😍
Loved the Ghost walk last time we were there!!!👻👻👻
I love to look at all the amazing pictures but at the same time I feel so sad that I'm not there.
I ca t help butvthe k of all the lives lived there, the feet that walked there. Who? Why? Etc. Love these pictures
Thank you 👏
Love going to Edinburgh especially when the fringe is on 😀
Too spooky walking alone through dark empty streets. Edinburgh can be a dangerous place
Love these photos of Edinburgh but l think it's a bit creepy but still lovely
Incredible photo. Love and miss my birthplace. 👍🏴🇨🇦❤️
love love all of your pictures, even the moody ones
Old World charm💕💕💕 Nostalgia at its best
Can well imagine Burke and Hare wandering through here with their cadavers!
That's one scary walk at night. Wow.
Great setting. For the night life
Lovely but a tad eerie.
Walking up this street, suddenly you here footsteps coming from behind you,one leg being dragged behind the other, you look back and see this misshapen figure lurching towards you. Then you wake up,another bad dream.
Like the idea but zoom is a bit restrictive given the amount of us that would like to see it, a series of youtube videos might be better.
I enjoyed your car videos, so I'm thinking this would be just as enjoyable. Just be sure to record so that those of us in other parts of the world wouldn't have to stay up into the early hours to watch.
Love your photos. I am currently reading Quintin Jardine’s, Bob Skinner books they are mostly set in Edinburgh. It’s great to see places as well as reading about them.
I think it would be a great idea. This is a bit unrelated, but I'd also be interested in learning more about the history of the places you photograph. Also what attracts you to certain places and buildings, the sources of your inspiration. I'm an old school gothic literature fan, and I love your work because it's like a window into the worlds of those stories. It's not hard to see stories of decaying aristocracy, forbidden love, madness and decadence playing out in the dark alleys and buildings of your creations.
Worked nightshift there on and of for 2 or 3 years ...painter an decorator
Definitely interested. But I agree with those who suggest that maybe YouTube etc. might be a better venue. It could get really unwieldy if it's too interactive.
Oh yeah! But it would be kind of lovely if you did it at an hour USians could join in.
Yes, a great idea.
Yes sounds great.
I love your work but don’t know if I’m drawn to do it over enjoy it. Lots of people would like to though:
One for you Jim Cairns.
Yes, just that darn time difference between Edinburgh and Vancouver Canada.
Sandra McAlister - can just see Rebus staggering out of the Oxford on this fab photo!
Wonderful words too for all those we love and are apart from xxxx
Such happy memories of walking those streets in the dark x
A.A.Milne had it all summed up he had a wonderful way with words. One day will return when it is safe to and the planes fly again from the Land of Oz. But for now l am enjoying living in the amazing state of Victoria!!!
Wonderfully evocative and atmospheric image, amplified by being shot in b+w, love it!💖💕⭐⭐👏👏
Beautiful words. Beautiful Edinburgh.
Love this snaps!! Absolutely love our capital city!! Beautiful at all times of the day in every single season!
The rain, the cobbles and the light on a dark night, what a great mix
The most beautiful city in the UK. My beloved gothic Edinburgh ❤️❤️❤️
That is so true. Bear of big brain! X
So beautiful! Wishicould travel there once again, I just spent 4 days with a good friend but it stole a big chunk of my heart!!
Love the quote, love the streets of Edinburgh, went into the church on corner being used for art events, and had lunch in the restaurant.happy memories.🙂
Reminds me of the rhyme Up the close and down the stair
In the house with Burke and Hare
Burke’s the butcher Hares the thief
Knox the man who buys the beef
Burke and Hare they were a pair killed a wife and didn’t care
They put her in a box and sent her off to Dr Knox
Burke’s the butcher Hares the thief Knox the yin that buys the beef
It's like coming from another time and age
Beautiful, love this black and white photo. And the verse by Winnie the Pooh..👌
I love the A.A. Milne quote - Winnie the Pooh is a very clever little bear!
Love Edinburgh love everything about it.
I love Edinburgh, dark, light, sun, rain and snow. ❤️❤️
Wish was going back this year for Christmas, fabulous😔
Beautiful Edinburgh Scotland 🏴
It is a great privilege to walk the Royal Mile of Edinburgh in the dark, immersed in the spirits of days gone by.
Great moody photograph.
How romantic was AA Milne!
These photos are so atmospheric!
There’s nothing better on
a gloomy, snowy Canadian afternoon than sitting by a nice fire , reading a Rebus novel and then seeing very cool pictures of Edinburgh on FB
I once watched a motivational speaker who said, "Hurt people, hurt." It took me a minute to get what she was saying. And it is so true. A direct feed into Maya's continuance of once you heal....get out there and help someone else. Thanks for posting!
Oh Yes Indeed❤️❤️❤️
