"You start in April and cross to the time of May
One has you as it leaves, one as it comes
Since the edges of these months are yours and defer
To you, either of them suits your praises.
The Circus continues and the theatre's lauded palm,
Let this song, too, join the Circus spectacle."

A real beauty of a photograph - interesting how black and white emphasizes the long shadows of those stunning trees on the ground - simple, but stunning!

I love dark pics

Love this.

A truly appropriate quote for a truly engaging photo.

Gorgeous photograph - I love the buildings and architecture of Edinburgh - so unlike anything we have here in New England and showcases the city's fantastic history.

Cannongate. On the left hand corner New Street down to the Lower Calton Road. The Ark was also on that corner, my Dad took me several times😢 days.

Awesome shot - how I love those magnificent old buildings - and the streets are so amazing - and very photogenic!

Absolutely love this ❤️.

A dreary day the cobblestones reflect the greyness of the sky!🌹

If that's where I think it is (Thistle St lane) I lived in the 3rd floor flat for 6 months '92/'93. Converted offices. Ironically during that time the warehouse next door was torched.

What a great quote. Makes you think about life.

Used to visit regularly every week as a kid in 60's. Can honestly say I never ever saw anyone on this bridge, and looked at it every time I passed.

What an awesome photo - the view is so incredible, and I love the road - just a bit damp which makes it shine and surrounded by those elegant, old buildings.

Where is this please?

I can still hear the thumping and eerie sounds of the aliens from the film. Is one about to come down that passageway? Run away! Run away!

Can't you just imagine Arthur Conan Doyle staulking these streets gathering material for the Sherlock Holmes series in the Strand magazine?

Applied perfectly to your work here!

Great shot. I might have gone with a spooky eg M.R. James quote, though.

Is that Stockbridge man ?

That's just fantastic. Will it be available as a print?

Is this the Walter Scott monument?

Love this awesome photograph - and the way the clouds balance the dark sky - not certain whether this is a building or a monument of some kind - but whatever, it is so magnificent!
